Suitcase Filled with Kona Coffee Beans
I got so spoiled from my Hawaii trip last year. Long story short, I came down with Influenza while vacationing in Hawaii. I missed the tour of the coffee plantation. Bob bought me a pound of coffee as a gift to cheer me up.
Cut to today, and I now *subscribe* to have Kona beans delivered to me. I can’t really drink anything else. (The bummer part of the story is that I had Influenze for a MONTH. Be careful out there.)
I had some extra beans this month, so I am giving them as a gift to my riend Cheryl. Cheryl used to live in Kona! She is in Reno now – and it is very snowy. I hope this cheers her up.
I LOVE these new suitcase treat boxes. I paired them with the retired Latte Suite for this care package – but so many different themes would work nicely.
I’ve included lots of tips below for you!
The Latte Love paper and the tropical stamp set are retired. But the suitcase will be available to customers in March, and the Mini Alphabet Dies, the Gold Foil paper, and the Perennial Postage Dies are current.
If you zoom in on the postage stamp itself, you can see that it is dry embossed with a canellation image!!!
Another other tip is that I used the (also soon to be released) tag slot punch to create slots in the Designer Series Paper for the sections where the handle appears. I just kept punching next to the last punch until I had a straight line.
In order to determine where to punch, I drew the slot lines by using the box itself as a template. I did the writing on the back of the paper so it wouldn’t show on the visible side. It’s ok if the slit marks aren’t perfectly aligned – noone will see that level of detail.
One more bonus tip – I used partial images from the DSP! I was die-cutting and listening to a webinar, and ended up with a huge stash of partials. They look great as a collageable on the suitcases.
