Keeping it simple with S-I-P

It all begins with a S-I-P. Stamps, Inks and Paper. Learn a little more about each of these elements, and then purchase a Starter Kit today to get you well on your way.

Watch my Serenity LIVE where I talk you through all of these basics, with examples and how-to’s.

Stamps

We offer two different types of stamps. We have photopolymer stamps, and cling mount (red rubber) stamps.

Photopolymer stamps are great because you can see through them for perfect placement every time.

Cling mount stamps are great because they are deeply etched, giving those larger sentiments and images a solid first impression.

They both work with blocks. Stampin’ Up! offers a variety of sizes to fit all of the various stamp sizes.

Ink

There are two main types of ink for those first starting out. First, we have our Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. This ink is great for a solid black stamped image, and for coloring with Blends.

We also offer Classic Ink Pads in all of our coordinating colors. Spots (smaller sized ink pads) are great for when you are first starting out. The full size pads give a vibrant impression every time. (And reinkers are super-affordable for when you are in the middle of a project and need more ink on your pad.)

Paper

When you are first starting out, or when you need to whip up a quick set of cards, our Note Cards and Matching envelopes make an easy go of things.

Our Card Stock colors coordinate with our markers, Designer Series Paper, ink pads, watercolor pencils, ribbons and more. Our Card Stock is sturdy and heavy weight, and is great for card bases.

Our Designer Series Paper (DSP we call it) is luscious and beautiful and bright and happy and comes in many colors and patterns for all occasions.

Our exclusive Stampin’ Up! trimmer comes with a cutting blade that will last through many cuttings, and also includes a scoring blade so you can fold your paper too.

And etc.

You will need a few more basics to round out your Starter Kit.

For adhesives, I recommend liquid glue, Dimensionals, and Mini-Glue Dots.

You can get away with using your regular household scissors at first, but will want to add our Snips to your collection very soon. (A good idea for your growing wish list!) They are very affordable compared to others on the market, and cut through ribbon like butter.

It’s always fun to step things up with a little bling, like ribbon or embellishments. And it’s fun to add a punched element to your card for a little more dimension and texture.
