I love leaves

“Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the Autumn tree.” Emily Bronte

I love creating cards with leaves. I love stamping them, and die-cutting them, and water-coloring them, and gathering them. I love all sizes, all shapes, all colors, all textures., all designs.

Autumn and Thanksgiving are truly one of my favorite times of year. It’s so important and so peaceful to take time to reflect with gratitude about our blessings. And yes, even in this super crazy 2020, we’ve each had our own version of our own blessings.

Right now I am sitting here writing this post, binge-watching a travel documentary about Italy with my husband Bob. I am grateful that we got to visit Italy before all of this madness, and that we ate great food, saw beautiful sights, and made good memories. There were no memorable leaves that I recall… but there were plenty of other beautiful scenes. And so much beautiful artwork. I am grateful for technology so we can revisit our trip, and dream about future plans to maybe go there again one day.

On my Serenity Live Facebook Live today, I show how to watercolor a leaf on a Clean-and-Simple card made with heart. A heart-shaped leaf, that is. Take a look. I’m no Michelangelo, but I had fun!!

This card was made using a simple, impactful watercolor technique

The card base is Thick Very Vanilla, with a layer of Brushed Metallic card stock, a layer of Basic Black, and a final layer of Very Vanilla. The leaf was die-cut from the Love of Leaves die-cuts, and watercolored. I used our new Water Painters, and our Pigment Inks found on the Clearance Rack.

SO colorful and SO pretty.

You can make your own version in Card Class this month, or by purchasing the supplies yourself and earning free goodness from me!

Have a beautiful, Autumn, leaf-filled and art-filled day. Drop me a line and let me know what you are grateful for.
