Fun Fold Gift Card Holder

Sweet inside of card repeats the diagonal pattern from the outside

This elegant creation is great for all occasions and any holiday – Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s, birthday, masculine, retirement, executive anything, congratulations, thank you and more. The simple fun fold is easy to make. It can hold a gift card inside, or a sweet note. (Shhhh. This is Bob’s Christmas card. I know he doesn’t read my content so I’m not worried he will see it. But shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 🙂

Here are the measurements:

CUt Basic Gray Cardstock: 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″

Cut Simply Elegant DSP: 8″ X 10 1/2″, and 1 1/2″ X 10″ (opposite side, for the belly band)

Score DSP in half both directions. Score at 4″ on the short side, and at 5 1/4″ on the long side.

Fold along the lines, and burnish well.

Cut and remove top left quadrant of DSP piece. You can use your trimmer or your snips. Save the cut piece.

Fold bottom left quarter over. Create a flap on this panel by folding it back on top of itself. Adhere flap down, On the inside, glue the panel to the back all along the bottom and the tiny edge to create a pocket.

Fold the top flap down. Adhere the back of the 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP to to coordinating 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ cardstock piece.

Wrap 1 1/2″ x 10″ piece of coordinating DSP to create a belly band. Leave enough wriggle room for the band to slide on and off. Adhere belly band to itself and snip off extra length. Wrap a length of 16′ length of ribbon around the belly band. Depending on the ribbon size and sentiment label size, you could tie a bow off to the left side.

this is what NOT to do – specifically, don’t put glue all along the ribbon. it’s only needed just in the center.

Die-cut or punch label. Stamp, color and decorate as desired. Attach label to belly band. You could add a simple label here – I chose to get a bit more elaborate.

Basic Gray Cardstock at 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″

Very Vanilla Cardstock at 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″

DSP at 2 1/4″ x 3 1/4″

Cut DSP on the diagonal.

Punch two tags and build a shadow. Stamp sentiment. Adhere bow and rhinestone.

Decorate the inside by mirroring the design on the outside.

Could put either a gift card or a note inside. For the note card shown here, I used the same dimensions as on the outside.

For the teeny tiny embellishment tag on the bottom (thanks for the hearts idea, Sister Carrie!!!), cut Very Vanilla to 3/4 x 1. Cut DSP to 1/2 x 3/4, and cut on the diagonal. Use the new Rainbows die cuts to die-cut two tiny gold heart shapes from Gold Foil.

Assemble, and write your sweet note to your loved one!

Here is a video showing you how to assemble it.
