Cards made with DSP are simple to make and impactful for the recipient to receive.

This leaf card is so simple to make, and is such a delight for the eyes and heart. I first received a version of this card (inspired by Ronda Wade) and I was struck visually. I love the patterns and the dimension, and of course I love the sentiment. It is such an act of kindness and compassion to let someone know we are thinking of them. Is there really any act more significant? We get to do that with this hobby – we get to let people know we care.

One pack of DSP will provide you with many cards at a fantastic price.

One sheet of 12×12 paper can provide you with over ten cards from just that one sheet. Follow the suggested mesaurements below to maximize your paper cuts. Use our trimmer to cut paper so smoothly, and to measure the right size so perfectly and accurately.

When we use our standard A2 envelope size (4 3/8″ x 5 3/4″) here in the U.S., we know that we cut our base card stock piece at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, and score at 4 1/4″. We then end up with a card that is sized at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and will fit perfectly inside our A2 envelope. From this basic foundation, we can cut our DSP in various patterns that will fit on the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card front.

Some common DSP sizes for card fronts are as follows, and you can see a few samples below.

  • 1″ x 5 1/2″
  • 2″ x 5 1/2″
  • 3″ x 3″
  • 4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP on left border is 1″ x 5 1/2″
DSP on left side is 2″ x 5 1/2″
DSP is 3″ x 3″
DSP is 4″ x 5 1/2″
2″ x 5 1/4″. Clean, Simple, Beautiful. I plan to pair it with the envelope dies and use DSP to decorate the envelopes

It is easy to make multiples at the same time. AND it’s easy to be creative and innovative!

My “corporate” experience is all about how people are motivated to behave in unique ways, and about what processes, routines and habits they use. (To learn more, see coaching services under Serenity Cards and Coaching!). I love to watch crafters sit down and make cards.

Some people LOVE the act of improvising and making things up spontaneously. They never want to make the same card twice. Others GET SO EXCITED about being productive and efficient and accurate, and getting multiple cards done correctly and efficiently and making the most use of their time. And then of course, none of us are really in a box – on any given day any of us can show up either way!

DSP provides something for everyone. By preparing a variety of card stock, DSP, and die-cuts, one can innovate at the touch of a finger by having all the pre-work done and right at hand. Or, one can set up what some call a “mass production” line and get quite a bit done by repeating the same steps with the same materials.

Our DSP color combinations are unique and beautiful, and they coordinate with our core colors. Simply bring out matching card stock and inks, and you can design and assemble cards in no time at all.

You choose. Mass production or Custom Creations – DSP helps you create impactful cards!

DSP can be a beautiful added touch to more complex cards.

DSP is perfect for people that are brand new to this hobby, and it’s also perfect for people who have been making cards for years. Just like with clothing, there are different styles and approaches to card making. One approach is to make cards that are clean-and-simple. This approach is great for people new to the hobby, for people who need to make a quick card on the go, for people who want to make multiples, AND for people who love a crisp and clean look.

Another approach to card-making is to carefully arrange more elements into a more complex card. The term we used to use all the time was to make a WOW! card. A WOW! card includes multiple layers, embellishments, maybe a technique of some sort, or maybe more involved stamping and coloring. DSP is a perfect added touch to more of a WOW! card. See this shaker card below. DSP was used in both the background, AND was used as the little snowflake die-cuts.

Can you spot two places where DSP was used? 1 – the background layer of the shaker card, and 2- – the snowflake die cuts!!!!
The colors in the snowflake DSP set the stage for making a beautiful WOW! card. The Specialty Glimmer Paper takes it to the next level.
This card is amazingly both WOW! and Clean-And-Simple!
